Obituary of Karen P. Klein

Karen Patricia (Clark) Klein, a retired programmer for Frontier Communications in Middletown, died peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her home in Wurtsboro. She was 59.
The daughter of William M. Clark, Jr and the late Patricia Ann Myers Clark, she was born December 28, 1955 in Middletown.
Following graduation from Middletown High School, Karen joined General Telephone (now Frontier Communications) in Middletown until she retired 30 years later. Karen was a former Fire Commissioner for Wurtsboro Fire District for 10 years.
Since her stroke five years ago, Karen never gave up staying connected to her friends and family. Through social media, she posted inspirational messages daily and was always quick to provide a positive comment. One of her favorite places that she liked to visit with her husband John was Tybee Island, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband: John M. Klein, at home; her father: William M. Clark of Middletown; a stepson: Mark Klein and his wife Lori of Doswell, VA; two stepdaughters: Ronda Wilder of Portland, ME and Keri Hudzik of Oceanside, MD; eight grandchildren: Ethan, Emily, Colin, Joshua, Alyssa, Brandon, Taylor and Colby; her brother Brian Clark of Middletown and her nephew, Michael Clark; her brother Jeffrey Clark and her niece, Tara O'Dell; her sister Carolyn Clark and her wife, Jody Stowe of Basking Ridge, NJ and her niece Sophia Stowe-Clark and nephew Austin Stowe-Clark; and her special caregiver: Sandy Simpson of Ellenville. In addition to her mother she was predeceased by a brother Scott Clark.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 7 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
