Alan J. "Moose" Reynolds, a retired Highway Superintendent for the Village of Monticello, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his home in Monticello. He was 70. The son of the late James W. Reynolds and Doris A. Slater Reynolds, he was born November 2, 1944 in Monticello. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Judith King Reynolds in 2007. Moose was and avid hunter/sportsman, being a member of both Cliff Lodge and Ridgerunners Hunting Camps. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by a daughter: Tracy Whitney & her husband Rick of Highland Lake; two sons: Francis "Rusty" Welsch & his fiancé Kelly of Monticello, and Robert "Bobby" Welsch & his fiancé Bonnie of Monticello; his grandchildren: Christopher Fererro & his wife Brittany, David Welsch & his girlfriend Chrissy, Kyle Welsch, Carlie and Alaina Gaughan, Sydney Carnell and Thomas O'Connor; great grandchildren: Hayley, Kairi and Andy Ferrero; his godchildren: Brenda and Landyn Avery; a sister-in-law: Sharon Nastro; brother-in-law: Robert King & his wife Barbara; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his furry sidekicks: Lily and Jeter. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son: Ronald Welsch; mother-in-law: Frances Gusty & her husband George; and brothers-in-law: Woody King and Sam Nastro. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 2 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment of his ashes will be held privately at the Messenger Cemetery, Southwoods, Monticello.
