Hobart DeWitt Harding of Wurtsboro, a retired Corrections Officer, died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 90. The son of the late Sidney E. Harding and Marion E. Hill Harding, he was born August 16, 1924 in Monticello. A veteran of the United States Navy, Hobart served in both WWII and Korea. He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Fredericka E. Gutekunst Harding, at home; a son: John Hahn & his wife Janice of Shohola, PA; two daughters: Ruth Tracie Murdock of Fountain Inn, SC and Pam Parisi and husband Louie of Sumter, SC.: a brother: Leon G. Harding & his wife Janice of Rock Hill; several grand and great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister: Helen Meddaugh Interment of his ashes with military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10am at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road in Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the USS Slater Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 1926, Albany, NY 12201 or memorial contribution of ones choice.
