Mary Ann Toomey, 77, of Forestburgh, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, surrounded by close family and friends at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. The daughter of the late Thomas Toomey and Mary Frances Wood Toomey, she was born April 28, 1938 in Port Jervis. Mary Ann attended Forestburgh Grammar School, St. Joseph's High School and Anna Marie College in Massachusetts. She was employed by New York Telephone, later married Flap Ingber and together they developed Apollo Mall and Apollo Scaffolding. She was an avid animal lover, always having a dog, and involved with horses at Monticello Raceway. A benefactor of the Olympic Basketball Team, Mary Ann was a Past President and advocate of the Senior Club in Forestburgh. She was the Town of Forestburgh Historian for many years, also working on the election board as an election inspector, and manager of the Forestburgh Nutrition Site. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family & friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 8 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9 at 11am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Forestburgh with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Forestburgh. Memorial contributions can be made to benefit dogs and cats, at Forgotten Friends of Long Island, P.O.
