Marco Tulio Pabón of Harris, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015. He was 53.
The son of Alfonso Anibal Pabón and Maria Rosmira Quiros, he was born September 10, 1961 in Itagüí, Colombia.
Marco was a beloved father, son, uncle, brother and friend.
A passionate runner, Marco participated in the Boston and NYC marathons multiple times. He was a founding member of the Hudson Valley Grand Prix and was actively involved with the Sullivan Striders running club. Marco was an avid reader, who spent his free time enjoying the literary works of many great authors. He was also an impeccable chess player. Marco obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in Colombia. He was a longstanding employee of Frontier Insurance.
Marco is survived by his parents, Alfonso Anibal Pabón and Maria Rosmira Quiros of Itagüí, Colombia; his two sons, Andrés Felipe Pabón and Alexander John Pabón of Middletown; his four brothers, Alfonso Pabon, Reinaldo Pabón, Alejandro Pabón and his wife Teresa Retana, Carlos Pabón and his wife Luz Cuervo and his three sisters, Angela Pabón, Luzmila Pabón, Maria Pabón and her husband Dario Muñoz; his nephews Jason Pabón, Ariel Pabón, Kevin Pabón, Daniel Pabón; and his nieces Juliana Pabón and Susana Pabón. Marco is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, May 2 from 10am to 12 noon at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street, with Fr. John Sheehan officiating.
