Kathleen M. Mabey, 97, of Forestburgh, New York passed peacefully into the Lord's arms on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2015, at her daughter's home in Youngsville, New York.
Kathleen was born in West Milford, New Jersey, on August 9, 1917, the daughter of Herbert and Marguerite Whritenour. She was the first of twelve children. She was a devout catholic and lived her entire life loving and serving the Lord. In her early years, she devoted her life to helping her mother care for her siblings. She later married and had four children of her own. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife. She had a passion for flowers and gardening and she loved her canine companions Buffy and Jake.
She is survived by her sisters Shirley Turse of Unionville NJ, Mary Decker of Bloomingdale NJ, and Carol Van Splinter of Pompton Lakes NJ, son Herman Struble Jr. of Punta Gorda FL, daughter Karen Pinkel of Youngsville NY, grandchildren Kim Vandermark, Lisa Icovino, Jamie Lawrence, Michelle Bock, Thomas Costanzo, Cheryl Bulman, Jennifer Nichols, Jillian Ruisi, Jodi Bair, Justin Pinkel, Jay Pinkel, and Kevin Pinkel, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husbands Herman Struble Sr., Frank Murphy, and Charles Mabey, daughters Sylvia Sanclementi and Judith Rose Struble, brothers Raymond, Edward, and Ronald Whritenour, sisters Patricia Conway, Rose Stalter, Genevieve Gray, Doris Lamy, and Joan Ezzo.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, April 19 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 20 at 10am at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Forestburgh Road in Forestburgh, NY with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Milford, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
