Mildred D. Blake died Friday, March 27, 2015 at her home in Bloomingburg surrounded by her loving family. She was 80. The daughter of the late James A. Goetschius and Emma G. Mackey Goetschius, she was born March 4, 1935 in Stony Point. She was the widow of James D. Blake who predeceased her in 1989. Mildred was a member of the Haverstraw American Legion Auxiliary, a 50-year member of the Cosgriff Hose #4 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a past leader of the Pine Bush Girl Scouts. She is survived by two sons: Barry A. Blake & his wife Linda of Middletown, and John J. Blake & his wife Charlene of Monroe; two daughters: Mary Louise Goodman of Reisterstown, MD and Donna Marie Hadden & her husband Timothy of Bloomingburg; a brother: Charles T. Goetschius & his wife Helene of Bloomingburg; a sister: Sue Ann Hitzel & her husband Mark of California; twelve grandchildren: Lisa, Kristen, Jessica, Daniel, Jay, Kathy, Sherry, Marci, Heather, James, Joseph and Jessica; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother: Robert Goetschius; and a son-in-law: Alan Goodman. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 30 from 5-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31 at 10am at the funeral home. Cremation will follow, and interment of her ashes will be held at St. Peters Cemetery in Haverstraw.
