Kenneth Jay Walz of Swan Lake, a retired butcher at Wal-Mart in Monticello, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Achieve Rehab & Nursing Facility in Liberty. He was 88. The son of the late George M. Walz and Ethel Sampson Walz, he was born September 17, 1926 in New York City. Survivors include his wife: Jeannet Lequerique Walz, at home; a son: Kenneth G. Walz of Swan Lake; a daughter: Arlene Janice Watts of Middletown; a stepson: Chris Efthimian of Smallwood; and six grandchildren: Sabrina, Chelsea, Kenny, Frank, Carly and Gerard. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Leonard. Funeral services were held privately on Monday, March 9 and burial was held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel.
