Obituary of Pauline V. Hall

Pauline Valentina Houston Hall, 79, passed away on March 12, 2013 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. Pauline was born on July 13, 1933 to Melya and Pauline Alphonse Houston of Daphne, Alabama. She was a member of St. Peter's Church of Monticello. She attended Several Catholic Grammar Schools, graduated from Baldwin County High School, also Sullivan county community college, later received her degree from New Paltz University. She worked as a social worker for the state until she retired. Pauline established the first shelter for the homeless and problem children in Sullivan County. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Floyd Hall Sr, sons Bernard and Floyd Jr, daughter Pamela, and her beloved parents, uncle Willie Alphonse, four sisters and brothers in law Carmelita(Eddie), Marie(Herman), Stella(Eddie), Josephine(Joseph), also Calvin Butler. Pauline is leaving us to mourn her passing, Sons Raymond, Reginald, Daughters Melba, Shaunte, Marquicha. Grandchildren Martena, Delshonda, Sapphire, Reggie Jr, Shawn. Two sisters Carolyn Houston Morgan (Richard), and Shirley Houston Butler, and Aunt Doll Baby. Pauline leaves a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends, and life long friends Gary Sommers and Gerald Orseck. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19 from 12:00 to 1:30pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:00pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with Fr. John Tran officiating.
