Joseph F. Travers, a.k.a "Pop-Pop", of Wurtsboro, NY and a retiree of Warren County Highway Dept., NY passed away quietly on October 10, 2014.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Rockland County, NY where he lived for many years. Joe worked for Lederle Tech in Pearl River for 30 years after serving in the Army during World War II.
Joe was predeceased by his bride of 32 years, Hazel Jeanette Krausser Travers in 1987. He leaves behind his primary caregiver, Deborah Bailey and her husband Arthur. His two sons William Travers and wife Sara, and Wayne Travers; four grandchildren, Jessica Travers and husband Oscar, Keith Travers, Jeffrey Travers and his wife Megan and Tiffany Travers; great grandchildren, Laney Travers, Alexander, Nicholas and Natalya Martinez-Travers and Noelle Travers.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday October 13, 2014 from 5-7 pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. A brief service will be held following the visitation at 7pm.
