Joan D. Kiefer of Monticello died Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 80.
The daughter of the late Henry and Ann Rupp, she was born August 3, 1934 in Lackawaxen, PA.
Joan was a retired cafeteria worker for the Monticello Central Schools and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of John Kiefer.
She is survived by a son: James Kiefer of Monticello; a daughter: Linda Helm & her husband Mark of Ladson, SC; a grandson: Brandon; a brother Don Rupp & his companion Linda Schaeffer of Barryville; and her seven cat children.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sullivan County SPCA, P.O. Box 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
