Obituary of Violet Osborne

Violet Osborne, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at her home in Wurtsboro. She was 81.
The daughter of the late Sylvanius Blake Sr. and Rose Babcock Blake, she was born October 18, 1932 in Haverstraw.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: George L. Osborne Sr., at home; two sons: George L. Osborne Jr. & his wife Mary of Bloomingburg, and Thomas K. DeNoyelles & his wife Joan of New City; four grandchildren: Frederick Osborne, Missy Utter, Louise Paterno and Andrew J. Morris III; two sisters: Mary Hastings of Rock Tavern and Melinda Whitehead of Sloatsburg; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson: George F. Osborne; and two brothers: Sylvanius Blake Jr. and Theadore Blake.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, September 25 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
