Obituary of Grace Mary Thelman

Grace Mary Thelman, a retired secretary at the Monticello Middle School, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at her home in White Lake, surrounded by her family. She was 78. The daughter of the late Daniel J. Lee and Grace Frumerie Lee Ahlf (Charles), she was born November 23, 1935 in Bayonne, NJ. She was the widow of William H. Thelman Jr. whom she married on April 24, 1954. He predeceased her on June 22, 2002. Grace was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Monticello; and was involved with the Bethelites and the White Lake Food Pantry. She is survived by a son: William H. Thelman III & his wife Laurie of Bethel, and Cynthia Shook & her husband Gary of Lagrangeville; three granddaughters: Katie and her companion Andrew Skinner of Jeffersonville, and Kellee & Kassie of Bethel; a brother: William Lee & his wife Shirley of Saugerties; a very special uncle Walt Frumerie of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, July 18 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19 at 11am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
