Obituary of John Edward Yeomans

John Edward Yeomans, a lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at home in Monticello. He was 80. The son of the late Lester Yeomans and Lillian Soules Yeomans, he was born June 25, 1933 in Monticello. John was self-employed as "John the Tree Man" (John's Tree Service) and was also known as the "82 Today Birthday Man". He was a lover of all animals, wild or tame, big or small. He was a member of the Monticello Elks and NRA. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Barbara Kinne Yeomans, at home; his daughter: Wendi Burke & her husband Leo of Pine Bush; his granddaughters: Jenelle Vellenga & her husband Greg of Slate Hill, and Katie Bulley and Morgan Bulley of Pine Bush; one great grandson: Griffin Vellenga of Slate Hill; several nieces and nephews; and the love of his life "Miss Molly", our little dog. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Muriel Cleveland and Genevieve Albrecht; and two brothers: William and Lester Yeomans. Family & friends are invited to gather on Monday, June 16 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will then be held at 7pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sullivan Co. SPCA, P.O. Box 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
