Obituary of Martha M. DeMartino

Martha M. DeMartino, a retired insurance broker and longtime resident of the area, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at her home in Wurtsboro. She was 80. The daughter of the late Frank DeMartino and Christina Russo DeMartino, she was born January 2, 1934 in Brooklyn. Martha was a member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg where she was very active with the food pantry. She was also a member of the Mamakating Seniors and R.A.V.E. She is survived by her sister: Mary Barbuti & her husband August "Dave" Barbuti of Wurtsboro; nieces and nephews: Christine Herschel & her husband Joseph of Rock Hill, and David A. Barbuti of Tarrytown; and great nieces and nephews: Christina, Alyssa, Stephen and Matthew. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, June 8 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 9 at 1:00pm at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 High Street in Bloomingburg with Fr.
