Patricia Irene Schreier, a retired cook at the Chase School in Wurtsboro, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at her home in Wurtsboro surrounded by her family. She was 72.
The daughter of the late James Parisi and Rose Scalla Parisi, she was born December 4, 1941 in Manhattan.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Fred G. Schreier, at home; their children: Janice R. Riker & her husband Jarrod of Wurtsboro, David F. Schreier & his wife Natalie of Staten Island, and Linda R. Noyes & her husband Lee of Wurtsboro; six grandchildren: Danielle M. Lindsay, Jennifer A. Lindsay, Jonathan D. Schreier, Emily A. Schreier, Crystal Lynn Dempsey and Tyler Paul Dempsey; three great grandchildren: Saniya J. Patterson, Giovanna Morrison and Tavien D. Combs; a brother: Dominick Parisi & his wife Maureen of Shirley, NY; two sisters: Frances Mahon of Wurtsboro, and Joann Lasky of Galway; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother: Louis Parisi (whose wife Martha survives in Wurtsboro) and a grandson: David R. Schreier.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, May 15 from 6-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
