Paul C. Jacobsen died peacefully in the arms of his wife on Easter Day at home. He was the son of Rev. Peter Jacobsen and the late Janet (nee Chase) Jacobsen. Paul was born on August 29, 1954 in Garden City, NY. His family moved to Monticello, NY in 1968 where he continued his education at Monticello High School graduating with the class of 1972, Paul was the husband of 30 years to Sheila (nee Smith) Jacobsen and the father of Shawn Jones of MN, Alexandria Schmoeger and her husband Gary of Pine Bush, Spencer Jacobsen, Alexander Gallegos and Allyson Gallegos all at home. While some of his children were not of his seed, they were born in his heart. His children were his greatest achievement. His greatest joy was being the Grandfather to Ciran Jones, Emma and Kathryn Schmoeger, they were the twinkle in his eyes. He was the brother of Claire Hodge and her husband Joseph of Orlando, FL., Martha Fisichello and her husband John of Matthews, NC. and Jane Perez and her husband Gus of Wurtsboro, NY. Uncle of Ashley and Kailen Hodge of Quincy, MA and Janet Jones and her husband Steven of Orlando, FL, Maria Lopez and her husband Chris of Charlotte, NC, Connie McCollister and her husband Adam, of Washington, D.C. and Mario Fisichello of Matthews, NC. Paul was predeceased by his beautiful mother Janet, his talented brother Philip, Grandparents William and Myra Chase & Arthur and Asta Jacobsen, his in-laws Rev. Douglas T. Smith and Barbara Smith. While we will greatly miss him here on Earth, his family on the other side are having a joyful reunion with him. Life is eternal, love is immortal, and death is only a horizon. The horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight. The family would like to thank Dr. Seth Judd for saving his life last year, Dr. Gnanamba Kondagunta for her compassion and excellent care, and Dr. Thomas Eanelli for his amazing personality and brilliant mind. We would also love to thank the entire staff of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties for their support, compassion and excellent care they gave the entire family.
