Obituary of Jason K. Kline

Jason Kristian Kline, 33 of Monticello, NY passed away at home on February 12, 2014. He was born May 19, 1980 in Ithaca, NY. He attended Tri-Valley High School and graduated from OCCC, where he earned a degree in architectural design. A creative and artistic soul, he enjoyed writing poetry, lyrics, and sketching. He loved to play and watch basketball, and was a fan of the Orlando Magic, whom he began following while he lived in Florida, as well as both the Brooklyn Nets and the NY Knicks. His greatest pride was his children, whom he loved and cherished dearly. He is survived by his four children, Damian Pearsall, Jaydyn, Elijah, and Laneya Kline, and their mother, Holly Albert, all of Stony Point, NY. He is additionally survived by his parents, Brian and Katherine Johnson of Monticello, NY; his grandmothers, Barbara Gerych of Horseheads, NY and Martha Johnson of Monticello, NY; his godmother, Phyllis Wilkinson of Interlaken, NY; several aunts, uncles, cousins; many friends, and his loving dog, Clifford. He was pre-deceased by his grandfathers, George G. Gerych Sr., Henry 'Oly' Johnson, and his uncle, Wayne Johnson. Family & friends are invited to gather on Sunday, February 16 from 4-6pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 17 at 11am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with Msgr. Edward F. Straub officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to a memorial fund established for Jason's four children.
