Ronald Kenneth Van Gordon, Sr. entered into Heaven on February 7, 2014. He was born on October 7, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Wilbur and Louise Van Gordon. His parents relocated to Sullivan County where he would spend his youth and much of the remainder of his life. Ronald served in the U.S. Armed Forces, became a self-employed craftsman, travelled with his family throughout the U.S. and eventually retired from 27 years of employment with the Village of Monticello. He married his wife, Barbara Striffler, on April 27, 1963. Their family included one son, the late Ronald Van Gordon, Jr., three daughters and their spouses, Barbara Cuneo and John of Montgomery, NY, April Lapidus Rieber and Kevin of Rock Hill, NY, and Jeannine Price and Duane of Bridgeville, NY, and grandchildren, Christopher, Jacqueline, Amanda, Jack, Natalie, Matthew, Rachel, Tanya, Danielle and Corey. Ronald is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters and their families. Ronald's wife, his children, his grandchildren, his siblings and his friends will all miss him greatly. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Sullivan and Orange Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. A memorial tribute for Ronald will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Rieber residence, 283 Wild Turnpike, Rock Hill, NY.
