Charles Klemen, a retired carpenter for Right Finishing Co. in Monticello, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home in Monticello surrounded by his loving family. He was 82. The son of the late Imre Koncz and Anna Messman-Koncz, he was born February 21, 1930 in Romania. Charles was a member of the Sullivan County Radio Control Club, Carpenter's Union #19, the Middletown German Club and St. Peter's Church in Monticello. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Cecile, at home; a son: Philip Klemen of Monticello; two daughters: Carol Gaiman & her husband Robert of Monticello, and Linda Oefelein & her husband Patrick of Monticello; four grandchildren: Melissa, Patrick, Justin and Carly; a great grandson: Leland; two brothers: John Koncz of Germany and Emil Koncz of New Jersey; a sister: Julienne Wainscoat of Colorado; several nieces and nephews; and his dear French families: Forestier, Sabadel and Toiron. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister: Marie Weiss. Family & friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, July 18 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
