E. Linnea Salomon, a lifelong resident of the area, living in Rock Hill and later moving to Grahamsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 94. The daughter of the late Otto Marl & Nina Olsen Marl, she was born July 8, 1917 in Cragsmoor, NY. Linnea was predeceased in 1998 by her husband Carl L. Salomon, who together operated the Miss Monticello Diner for over 50 years while also raising six children. Linnea had a love for many things. She was a doll collector, antiques dealer, accomplished artist and raised Arabian Horses. Survivors include four sons: Arthur Salomon and his wife, Kim of Forestburgh, Carl Salomon and his wife, Ruth of Monticello, Kurt Salomon and his wife, Linda of Grahamsville and Eric Salomon of Scranton, PA; two daughters: Karin Salomon of Pacific Grove, CA and Christina Salomon of Santa Fe, NM; six grandchildren: Michael Salomon, Joe Schwartzman, Travis Salomon, Jeremiah Salomon, Cassandra Salomon and Lisa Campano; two great grandchildren: Nina & Justin Campano; as well as many nieces and nephews, and her longtime caregiver: Louise Seitz. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 2pm at the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Route 55 in Grahamsville, NY. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or to a charity of one's choice.
