Jeanette H. Barrett "Nettie", a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 71. The daughter of the late Edward Martin and Caroline York Martin, she was born February 23, 1941 in Middletown. She is survived by a son: Robert Barrett of Bloomingburg; a daughter: Laura Spratley of Norwich, NY; her companion: William R. Barrett of Bloomingburg and his children: Stacy, John, Billy Jo and Michael Barrett; two brothers: Edward and John Martin; two sisters: Pearl Bader and Carol Sams; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her late husband Robert and several brothers and sisters. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 2 from 2-4 & 6-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday evening at 8:30pm at the funeral home. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bloomingburg Fire Dept., P.O. Box 274, Bloomingburg, NY 12721.
