Obituary of George M. Rupp

George M. Rupp, Jr. aka, "Joe", a retired supervisor for the Village of Monticello Public Works and lifelong resident of the area passed away February 14, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 82.
Son of the late George G. Rupp, Sr. & Marie Ruh Crawford, Joe was born August 30, 1930 in Monticello, NY.
Joe had many interests which included nature and the outdoors, animals, gardening and working with his hands. But what gave him the most joy was collecting antiques, flea markets, and going to yard & garage sales.
He is survived by his sister; Helen Calhoun of Monticello; his brother, Albert Rupp of Forestburgh; his nephew, William Rupp of Middletown; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers: Alan Rupp & Frank Rupp Sr.; and sisters: Linda Rupp Gregory & Valerie Rupp.
Family and friends are invited to gather Monday, February 25, 2013 from 1-2pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service with military honors will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. John Thomason officiating.
