Obituary of Angelina Larkin

Angelina Jones Larkin departed this life on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Achieve Nursing Home in Liberty. She was 87. The daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. William Jones, she was born January 15, 1925 in Berkeley County, South Carolina where she grew up. In 1958 she joined Calvin Larkin who preceded her to the grave. Angie retired after 29 years from the Monticello Hospital and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Monticello for over 23 years. Just as we are born, we must die. We know this is true but we still cry, for 87 years our lives were touched by a special person whom we will miss very much. Her heart was full with love. She was a blessing from God above and today we come to say goodbye to Angie. We live in hope to see her some day. We will never forget her smile and quietness. God had it in his plan this world she will never be a part of, but her memories remain in our hearts. She leaves to cherish beautiful memories, her children: Emma Jones McCune of Monticello, Hannah Smalls (Jerome) of Pineville, SC, William Bobby Jones of Cross, SC, Willie J. Larkin (Yvette) and David Larkins (Tumeka); her grandchildren: David J. Larkins, Jasmyne K. Larkins, Jesaley W. Larkins, Charles McCune, Shiketta McCune, Christine Simmon Anthony, Lavonda Smalls, Lamont Smalls, Chelsea, Asha and Elexica. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother: Charlie Jones; and two sisters: Mary Lee and Rosalie Green. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 2:00pm at the New Salem Baptist Church, 62 Waverly Avenue in Monticello. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1-2pm at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
