Rafael Planas of Rock Hill, a security officer for the Monticello Racino, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 71.
The son of the late Eladio Planas and Polania Maldonado Planas, he was born May 10, 1940 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Rafael is survived by his wife: Nelida, at home; his children: Yvette, Ricky and David Planas, and Anthony Perez; a sister: Sylvia Planas.
To my dad Rafael you will forever be my Hero. Love always Anthony, Nellie, Caesar, Cairo, Davina and family.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions made to the family would be appreciated.
