Obituary of Richard Dean LaForge
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Richard "Ricky" D. LaForge, 58, of Phillipsport, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was a longtime member of Laborers Local 754. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan, enjoyed Nascar and loved all kinds of music. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals and loved his Siberian Huskies, Cisco and Shendoah. His wife, children and grandchildren were his life. He leaves behind so many wonderful happy memories to cherish. He wasn't here for a long time, he was here for a good time and we shared plenty of them. He was loved and adored so much and he will live in our hearts, until we are together again.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mildred MacLeay; stepfather, Don Macleay and his brother, Larry LaForge. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly at home; two daughters, Cheri and Cortney; a son, Willie; a grandson, Tommy (his partner); granddaughters: Isabell (his roadrunners), Abigail (his birddog) and Kylee (his smiley Kylee); longtime friend, Frank Iannacone; his father, Lawrence LaForge; two brothers, Doug LaForge and his fiance, Joanne Fragale and Clyde LaForge and his wife, Valerie; two sisters, Lynda VanHouten and her husband, Danny and Cheryl Carter and her husband, Chet; mother-in-law, Dorothy Thorpe; brother-in-law, Jimmy Thorpe; sisters-in-law: Debbie, Diane and Sandy, and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be private and a celebration of his life will be at the discretion of the family.
