Robert W. Payne, a retired manager for Verizon, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at his home in Wurtsboro Hills. He was 70.
A veteran of the United States Naval Reserves, Robert was born June 3, 1941 in Astoria.
He is survived by his wife: Gay Joerges Payne, at home; a son: Robert; two daughters: Susan and Laura; and a stepdaughter: Holly Veneziano & her husband Carl of Swan Lake; two grandchildren: Dain and Britney; several nieces and nephews; and his two wiener dogs: Patty and Monica.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, October 9 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. A prayer service will be held at some point during the visitation.
