Carmine T. Zelenka aka Tommy, of Monticello passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 77. Son of the late Augustave Zelenka and Angelina Magazino, he was born on April 20, 1934 in the Bronx, NY. Tommy wore many hats throughout his life including: a bartender, handyman, superintendent and a "Car Jockey" as he liked to call it. He also had a great love for animals. Survivors include a sister: Phyllis Diaco, of Monticello; his nephews: Anthony Diaco of Monticello, John Diaco of Albany and Frank Diaco also of Monticello, and his niece, Christine Tengan of Monticello. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14, from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 10am at the funeral home with Fr. John Tran officiating. Burial will follow at the Ulster Heights Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sullivan County SPCA, P.O. Box 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
