Obituary of Pearl G. Dumont

Pearl Dumont, daughter of the late Royal S. Clark and Lydia Frey Clark, entered into eternal rest on August 8, 2011. Born on August 6, 1927 in Bradley Beach, New Jersey, Pearl was a life-long resident of Wanaksink Lake in Rock Hill, NY. Pearl met her husband, Paul in 1947, and they were married in New York City in May of 1948. She served 24 years in the United States Postal Service with 9 years as the Postmaster of the Loch Sheldrake Post Office in Loch Sheldrake, NY. After retirement she spent many years volunteering as a "Grandma" in the George L. Cooke and Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary Schools in the Monticello School District. Pearl was a devoted member of the Rock Hill United Methodist Church and the Rock Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rock Hill Fire Department. Pearl is survived by her loving children Steve Dumont and his wife Julia, and Dona Meddaugh and her husband Neal. She is also survived by her beloved Grandson Paul Meddaugh, her loving sister-in-law Shirley Clark and several nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Paul S. Dumont and her brother Theodore Clark. Pearl touched the lives of many people, and she brought joy to all who knew her. Her family shared her with many others who loved her and fondly called her "Grandma Pearl". A memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.
