Evelyn Marie Kerber, formerly of Southampton, Englewood and Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at her daughter's home in Rock Hill surrounded by her family. She was 86. The daughter of the late Howard Neighmond and Gertrude DeCamp Neighmond, she was born August 25, 1924 in Englewood, NJ. She was the widow of Jack G. Kerber who predeceased her on May 12, 1989. Evelyn was a member of the Church of the Holy Eucharist where she was a Eucharistic Minister and sang in the choir. She was also a member of Touch at Leisuretown. She is survived by her sons; John Michael Kerber (Ruth) and Carl D. Kerber (Ruth); her daughters: Carolyn Ramsay (Walt), Christine Kerber and Judith Konefal (Edward Levine); 13 grandchildren: Jennifer (Kerber) Droukas (Eric), David Kerber, Athena (Rivera) Yeleck (James), Rosemarie (Ramsay) Escalera (Julio), Jessica (Konefal) Burwick (Jared), Vanessa Konefal, Jack Konefal, Karen (Ramsay) Crawford (Steven), Denise (Ramsay) Coffey (Charlie), Ashley Levine, Adam Levine (Laura), Alex Levine and Aaron Levine; 5 great grandchildren: Alicia Coffey, Brandon Coffey, Brenden Hooks, Alexandra Droukas and Natalie Levine. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Joyce and June Kerber, and a grandson, Walter Ramsay Jr. Evelyn will be remembered for her love of family and the musical gift that she shared joyfully, singing God's love and mercy whenever she could. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 10 at 9:15am at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, NY. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made to Touch at Leisuretown, 202 North Plymouth Court, Southampton, NJ 08088 and Spectrum for Living, 210 Rivervale Rd., Suite #3, River Vale, NJ.
