Lorraine J. Price of Monticello, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 72.
The daughter of the late Donald Pearce and Laura M. Emge Pearce, she was born August 20, 1938 in Sparrowbush. She was the widow of Arnold J. "Scoop" Price who predeceased her on February 2, 2001.
Lorraine attended the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Ruddick Trowbridge Post #73 and the Monticello Seniors.
Survivors include a sister: Arlene Wessels & her husband Al of Otisville; a brother: Richard Pearce & his wife Donna of Sebastian, FL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws, especially her special sister-in-law and friend: Violet "Toot" Calhoun.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9 from 6-9pm and on Wednesday, August 10 from 10-11am at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Hill Cemetery.
