The worldwind is over, we've laid her to rest. We are at peace knowing she'll remain in GOD's care. How much I loved her and already miss her melodic sweet voice. I miss her words of encouragement, the truth and warmth in her eyes, and the love in the hug...s she gave me. To think of her saddens me to an unbearable point at times, yet I rest knowing how blessed we all were to know her, learn from her, and to have her in our lives. I want to thank all the wonderful Friends and family who showed their love, caring, and support for my mother, myself, and my family through this very difficult time. GOD truly shows his love and shines through our time of sadness!!!! See More

I have such fond memories of "Aunt" Karin. She was such a strong yet gentle woman. She would make Karina and I take a nap, and as we would lay there being the 7 year olds that we were...laughing and not napping I can still hear her yelling from the kitchen "Karina"!! with her strong german accent! She always made me feel welcomed in her home/daycare; being the jew girl that I was and taking me to church with her and her family Ash Wednesday to be exact! I will forever hold her and the LaVecchia family in my heart; so many childhood memories never to be forgotten.

You took me in and watched me. You made the best Hungarian goulash, you made the best birthday cake. You loved me like i was your child. You are my second mom. I love you and will miss you. Will miss you saying goodbye my sweetheart. Most of all I am happy to be a part of your family. I will treasure all that you have done for me. But most off all i will miss you very much you are and will always be a big part of my life. Mom i love you.

For a Brief Time, Karin
Encounter a person as random as it seems.
Came to see another, it wasn't as I dreamed.
As is peace of mind that comes, a familiar soul I see.
One of peace, of love, of graciousness to all she meets.
One who hears the words you say.
One who guides without slightest rage.
With truth and love she lights a way, of hope not fear, a peaceful way.
All who know her say this is truth.
Strong in heart, of mind, of soul.
Ever present in your thoughts, she thrives.
Yet I knew her for the shortest time.
Blessed are those that knew her longer.
For in her presences we have all felt stronger.
The light of her sprit that made her so.
A guide to follow, wherever we go.
Even for the brief time we touched.
That familiar soul we all loved so much.
Though on earth we will never see her.
She lives forever in our hearts, with God, for eternity.

One of the best memories that I have, actually involve both of my sisters and my mom. They were all down for christmas one year and we were up late at night wrapping presents. I can't actually remember what started the whole incident, but something struck us as so funny that we began to laugh... we laughed so hard that we cried. We thought we we got ourselves under control, just to look at each other and start laughing all over again. This went on for hours. My mother's sense of humor was one of the most priceless things that she shared with all.

I am sorry I never told her how much I admired her. Mrs. LaVecchia was always someone I could count on especially during those difficult teenage years. She was always kind, caring, honest, forgiving, and she gave great advice. She was also always there to cook breakfast all those Saturday mornings before she put us to work (after we had been up all night partying with Karina.) :) I will miss her wonderful smile and the way that she yelled Karina’s name when Karina was in trouble.

I have so many wonderful memories of my mother. She is so beautiful and strong!!! We used to love putting jig saw puzzles togerther. Some nights we'd sit up till 4am talking and laughing while we worked on them! We could barely tear ourselves away cause we were determind to finish!
She loved playing solitaire also! Although, in our house it was always community solitaire!
I will miss those times!

I was just thinking of Aunt Karin yesterday She was my daughter Rachel’s day care provider when we lived in Monticello in the 1970s. Your mom was took care of Rachel and 3 other little girls. I remember the highchairs in the kitchen and the potty chairs lined up in the bathroom. When I dropped Rachel off for her day at Aunt Karin’s I knew she was in a safe loving place. In those days it wasn’t necessary to be licensed but that wasn’t an issue with your capable mom in
charge. She was the best. (Memories from 1976-1978 when we moved away) Renee Krosner
