Obituary of Mario Paul DiGennaro

Mario Paul DiGennaro of Wurtsboro, NY SULLIVAN COUNTY Mario DiGennaro, a self employed Master Plumber and longtime resident of Sullivan County, died on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at St. Anthony's Community Hospital in Warwick, NY. He was 89. The son of the Late Paul and Anna Bruno DiGennaro. He was born on February 5, 1922 in Yonkers, NY. Mario served during WWII in the United States Navy onboard the USS Dupont, for which he received special commendation. He will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. Mario was the past President for the Mountain Lake Camp's Association, as well as a Past President of the Yonkers Plumbers Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Pauline Martorana DiGennaro, at home; three sons, Mario and his wife Margitta of the Florida Keys, Paul at home, and Anthony and his wife Maria of Middletown,NY; one daughter Rose Ann Azerier and her husband Gary of NY, NY; Four Grandchildren: Bianca (Herschell), Vanessa, Janine (Renso) and Michael; Three Great Grandchildren Jayla, Herschell-Mario and Jakob. Mario was predeceased by his brother Angelo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 26 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street, Wurtsboro, New York. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 626 Co. Route 22, Middletown, NY. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.
