Shellanda George "Crissy" of Ocilla, GA and formerly of Monticello, NY died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Albany Hospital in Georgia. She was 28.
The daughter of Icilda "Joyce" George and the late Willie George, she was born October 17, 1982 in Harris.
After attending Monticello High School, Shellanda worked at Monticello Manor and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Monticello.
Left with beautiful memories are her daughter Kimarii; loved one Eric; mother: Icilda George; three sisters: Donna Collier (Gregory) of Monticello, Melodie Powell (Lawrence) of Florida and Alicia Reid of Cornwall; two brothers: Steven Reid of Florida and Junior Thomas of New York City; four nieces: Thamika Burke (Barry) of Liberty, Olivia of Cornwall, Monet and Lauren of Florida; four nephews: Elijah of Cornwall, Denzel of Monticello, Roshad and Nasir of Florida; one grand niece Sydania of Liberty; aunt Roxie Ross, Linda George, Ida Johnson; uncles Jimmy George and Roosevelt George all of Ocilla, GA; Auntie Pamela Taylor of Canada; cousins Shantell and Daniel of Canada; Uncle Curtis (Joyce) of Atlanta; Auntie Marcia Reid (Junior) of Connecticut; Cynthia Johnson (Bill); Paulette Dwyer (Ewon) of New York City, Donna Christie of Texas, Ian Elliot of Middletown, Sherleen Robinson, Lillian Robinson, Micheal Robinson, Brother Rob, all of South Fallsburg, Sheresa Parker of New York City, Dennis Parker of New Jersey, aunts, uncles and cousins overseas, including loving friends Kahalia Butler, Stella Butler 2nd mother; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services and viewing will be celebrated at the New Salem Baptist Church, 62 Waverly Avenue in Monticello 12701 on Tuesday, July 19 at 1:00pm officiated by Pastor Harry Watson (who was like a grandfather to her along with his daughter Penny). Family and friends are invited to gather from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
