Obituary of William F. Bott

William F. Bott of Mongaup Valley, a retired high school teacher for the Monticello Central Schools, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in New York City. He was 85.
The son of the late William Bott and Catherine Toomey Bott, he was born May 3, 1926 in Queens.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany and was a member of the Bailey Richman VFW Post #9588, Monticello. He was also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Forestburgh where he belonged to the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife: Nenita De Belen Bott, at home and his extended family including the Bott and Toomey families. He was predeceased by two sisters: Sr. Catherine Bott OP and Margaret M. Bott PhD; and a brother, John "Jack" Bott.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16 at 11:00am at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Forestburgh with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Forestburgh.
