Sharon G. Broskin of Rock Hill died peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the ORMC-Arden Hill Campus in Goshen surrounded by her family. She was 47. The daughter of Helen Matulewicz Sullivan and the late John Sullivan, she was born December 31, 1963 in the Bronx. A loving mom and spoiling grandmother, Sharon will always be remembered as a feisty ball of energy who would stop at nothing to help a friend. She is survived by her longtime companion: Kevin McGarvey of Rock Hill; her mother: Helen Sullivan of Sun Lakes, AZ; her children: Tricia Gulotta and Casey Broskin; her grandchildren: Chase and Jenna; a great aunt: Rita McCreery; cousins: Ginger Scott and David McCreery, of Rock Hill; and her former husband and father of her children: Gerald Broskin & his wife Nellie of White Lake. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother: Sean Sullivan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15 from 2-5pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 16 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
