Martin J. Korth of Monticello passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 69. Born July 14, 1941 and raised in Goshen, the son of Florence Keene Korth and the late Edwin Korth, Martin later resided in Monticello where he lived out his life. Martin was a former employee of the Monticello School District bus garage, the Village of Woodridge DPW and was the former head greens keeper for the Concord Golf Courses. Throughout the years, he grew a fond love and interest for the weather. He devoted a great portion of his time in maintaining detailed records. Left with wonderful memories of Martin are his beloved wife Beverly Winfield Korth; three sisters: Katie, Judy and Violet; a brother: Edwin Jr.; his mother: Florence; his sons: Gary and Christopher; and two granddaughters: Jennifer and Nicolle Burns. He was predeceased by his father: Edwin Sr.; his daughter: Lisa Burns; and two brothers: David and Russell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12 at 10:00am at St. Peter's Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
