Wayne M. Galen of Loch Sheldrake, NY passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Harris, NY. He was 51.
The son of Sam Galen and the late Dorothy Egnor Galen, Wayne was born October 24, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY.
Wayne worked for 26 years as a sheet metal mechanic for Local #137 in New York City.
His love for the outdoors included fishing, hunting and of course crabbing, one of his favorite things to do.
He will be greatly missed by his best friend and wife Lori, and the love of his life Brittany, his daughter.
In addition to his wife and daughter at home he is survived by his father, Sam Galen; his brothers, Ron Galen of CA & Bruce Galen of Long Island; a sister, Trina Galen of MA; and nephew, Jake Galen.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, Monticello. Rev. John Thomason will officiate. There will also be a memorial service on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1pm at Sweet Hollow Presbyterian Church, 95 Old Country, Road, Melville, NY 11747.
