Obituary of Michael C. Decker

Michael C. Decker, a longtime resident of Wurtsboro, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 in Newburgh, NY. He was 63. The son of Leon Decker and the late Sarah Cassidy Decker, he was born on November 25, 1947 in Jersey City, NJ. Michael was the attendance officer for the Monticello School District, and was previously a police officer for the Town of Wallkill, the Town of Chester and a constable for the Town of Mamakating & the Village of Wurtsboro. He will be remembered as an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline at home; his daughters: Michele Pittenger, Donna Dibble and Kelly Fox and her husband, Nathaniel; his grandchildren: Michael, Kaylie, Anna & Randy Pittenger, Colby Mohr, Courtney Minnieri, Christopher Dibble, Sarah & Charlie Hindley and soon to be born Noah Michael Fox; a great granddaughter, Emma Hindley; his sister, Laura Steiret and her husband, Mark; his Brothers, Danny & David and his wife, Vicki. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 6-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street, Wurtsboro. His funeral service will be Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 1pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Gary Fox officiating.
