M. Sue Westerman, of Wanaksink Lake, Rock Hill, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2011. She was born on October 20, 1936 in Rome, NY, daughter of Ernest and Madeline Hutt Greenwell. Sue was an incredibly talented quilter and a proud member of the Calico Geese. She was inducted into the Quilters' Hall of Fame. Sue was also an avid bowler and traveler and loved swimming in the lake and playing cards with her girlfriends. She was a retired elementary physical education teacher. She attended the United Methodist Church in Monticello, NY. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her two beloved grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon. In addition to her grandchildren and many friends, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Westerman, her son, Bob Westerman and wife Christine, and daughter Barbara Mancroni and husband Wayne, all of Rock Hill. She is also survived by her sisters, Dottie Henry and Midge Greenwell, also of Rock Hill, as well as several nieces and nephews. Sue was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law James Donald Henry. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visiting hours. Family and close friends will celebrate her life in a memorial service this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Monticello, 455 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701.
