John Troy Fleming Jr., a retired maintenance man for the Laurels Country Club in Sackett Lake, died Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 76.
The son of the late Dr. John T. Fleming and Hilda Murphy Fleming, he was born January 31, 1936 in Stratford, CT.
John went to the Nichols Grammar School and Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT. He was employed by Raybestos Brake Co. in Stratford, CT, Avco Lycoming Division who made gas turbine engines for the United States Air Force, and the General Electric Co. wire and cable division. He lived with his wonderful companion Sally Starr for 38 years until her death in 2005.
He is survived by Daniel M. Fleming of Fairfax, VA, Dr. Peter Fleming of Cincinnati, OH, Claire Supple of Hartford, CT, Mary Warren of Oakland, CA, Anne Fleming of New Haven, CT, Didre Fleming of Branford, CT, Hildagarde Dichello of New Haven, CT; and Sally's daughters and grandchildren.
Burial of his ashes will be private and at the convenience of his family at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
