I am saddened about the loss of Tyrone. Although college days are 43 years past, we all have memories of a special person...the excitement he brought to basketball and intramural teams and, more importantly, his kind and "sunny"interactions with friends and acquaitnances alike. May his family be somewhat comforted by a very special chapter in this good man's life.

I knew Tyrone at SUNY New Paltz as a friend, fraternity brother and athlete. He was a fine human being who exemplified fraternity and humanity. I can visualize his smile, hear his laugh, and see his outstretched arms in some display of joyous emotion over someone else's success. During his college days he was the ultimate model of caring humanity. May he rest in peace.

I remember what a great athlete Ty was at New Paltz. More than an athlete, Ty was a terrific friend and Delphic brother. I will remember his upbeat attitude and wonderful smile. May he rest in peace. Lawrence (Hunter) Huntington

Rone and Reese, that's how I remember it!! He was an unbelievable athlete and also a great friend. I have often thought of his Big Laugh. All of the Delphic Men had a great time in college and we are all lucky to have great memories of Tyrone Sands!! Condolences to all of us because I truly know in many respects we were also a real family to Ty.

I attended SUNY New Paltz with Ty. He was a classmate, roommate and fraternity brother. He was a great guy and definitely the greatest natural athelete I ever met. Most importantly, he was an incredibily decent person.
I hope he is at peace. May God rest his soul.

I played college basketball (SUNY New Paltz) with Ty. Classmates of mine still recall what a fantastic athlete and ball player he was. What I remember just as vividly about Ty was his intelligence, decency, and his laugh. He was a good person.
