Obituary of Alfred Andrew Peterson

Please share a memory of Alfred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alfred "Al" Andrew Peterson of Monticello, a longtime resident of the area, died Monday, February 14, 2001 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris after a long illness. He was 82. The son of the late Alfred Leroy Peterson and May Belle Tiffany Peterson, he was born June 19, 1928 in Long Beach, CA. Al was extremely proud of serving as a seaman during WWII in the US Navy from 1946-1948. He spent the years following that living in California and then New York City as an artist and photographer. He moved to Sullivan County in the 1970's, working various jobs until retirement. Al's knack for telling stories of the adventures of his past, filled with vivid details, would leave even strangers in awe. He was predeceased by his brother Theodore, and is survived by his "adopted family" Jessi-ann and Heather Rosenbaum. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, February 18 at 10:00am at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road in Liberty.
