Obituary of Harold A. Scheck

Harold A. Scheck a longtime area resident passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Castle Point Veterans Hospital in Beacon. He was 82. The son of the late William & Ruth VanEtten Scheck, he was born December 27, 1928 Cliffside Park, NJ. Harold was career military man, having served active duty during the Korean War. As his family would attest to, the military was his life and he took great pride in that fact. He is survived by his brothers: Robert Scheck of Boynton Beach, FL and David Scheck of Wurtsboro; three sisters: Ruth Bretz of Delray Beach, FL, Norma Anderson (widow of Edwin) of Pond Eddy, NY and Betty McArdle of Wurtsboro; his nieces and nephews: Jim McArdle (deceased), Tracy McArdle, her children Trinity and Kaila, Jim McArdle Jr. and his sons Jimmy and Mannix, Harold McArdle, Raymond McArdle and his children, Rachael, Ray, and Angela, David Turner of Orlando (Amber, Nico, David, Adam), Edwin L. Anderson, Jr. of Glen Spey, Carol wife of Amador Laput of Glen Spey (Tyler, Evan, Amzie, Bailey, Sami and great-grandnephew Phineas), Mark Scheck, Julie Scheck, Jeff Scheck, Monica Violante, Roseann Scheck and many more nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: Walter (Bud), Norman and Richard Scheck. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 10am-12pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd in Liberty.
