Obituary of Helen Barbara Tortorella

Helen B. "Bachi" Tortorella, a retired salesperson for Abraham & Strauss in Hempstead, and a former resident of Liberty, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Skilled Nursing Unit at CRMC in Harris. She was 76.
The daughter of the late John & Stella DeRidder, she was born December 14, 1933 in Carle Place, NY.
Her greatest accomplishment was her grandchildren and great grandson.
She is survived by her daughter: Deborah A. Argenzio & her husband Mark of Bloomingburg; two grandchildren: Kevin (Angela) McCarthy and Alicia McCarthy (Bobby Walker); a great grandson: Gavin McManus; a brother: Edward DeRidder & his wife Sandy of Carle Place; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother: Sonny; and a sister: Stella.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 28 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. A prayer service will be held sometime Sunday evening.
