Angelo Porrovecchio of Monticello, a retired barber and longtime resident of the area, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the ORMC-Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 94.
The son of the late Giuseppe Porrovecchio and Maria D'Antona Porrovecchio, he was born February 22, 1916 in Sicily, Italy. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife: Anna Dolores Avellino Porrovecchio, at home; a son: Joseph Porrovecchio of New York City; a daughter: Angela Taylor of Franklin Lakes, NJ; two sisters: Teresa DeLuca and Sophie Budro, both of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Jack and Joseph Porrovecchio; and a sister: Mary Crema.
