Obituary of Robert C. Nicholson
Robert C. Nicholson, “Nick”, a retired truck driver for Resnicks Equipment in Rock Hill, passed away at his home in Summitville on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was 83.
The son of the late Robert W. Nicholson and Mary Golden Nicholson, he was born June 19, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY.
Nick was a 50-year life member of the Summitville Fire Dept. and an associate member of Pioneer Engine Co. in Ellenville, NY. He was a dedicated member who made an impact on his fellow firefighters and his community. Nick enjoyed being outdoors. When he wasn’t at the firehouse, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his two sons: Eric Nicholson of Rock Hill, and Robert Nicholson and his wife Cara of Monticello; six grandchildren: Erin, Megan, Logan, Emma, Delaney and Robert Jr as well as a sister-in-law Rebecca Kaiser; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Allan Nicolaisen and Leif Nikolajsen from Denmark.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 12:00 to 1:00pm at the Rock Hill Firehouse, 61 Glen Wild Road in Rock Hill with Firematic services starting at 1pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the firehouse.
