Walter Steven Conklin of Monticello, a retired foreman for the Village of Monticello Water Dept., passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris.  He was 79.

 

The son of the late Wilson Conklin and Ruth Powell Gray, he was born February 18, 1945 in Monticello.

 

He is survived by his three children: Keith, Karen and Amy Jo; grandchildren: Keith Jr., Michael, Steven, Jessel, Jennel, Jorge, James, Nicole and Alena; two sisters: Sheila and Anita; his wife: Peggy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter: Lori.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.  His funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22 at 11:00am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Hurleyville Cemetery.
