Obituary of Thomas F. Sheehan

Thomas Francis Sheehan of Rock Hill, 79, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Middletown, NY. The son of the late Cornelius Sheehan and Brigid Feeney Sheehan, he was born on December 30,1944, in the Bronx, NY.

Tommy was a cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend known for his sense of humor, generosity, and love for his family. As a young man, Tommy served in the Marine Corps for four years, demonstrating his dedication and service to his country. Professionally, he worked for 20 years as a sergeant in the New York Police Department.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, and their children: Stephanie, Tara and Bryan. His joy in life was further multiplied by his grandchildren, Brendan, Conor, Mackenzie Clare, Jack, Catherine, Kendall and Summer. Tommy also leaves behind his loving sister, Barbara Pinella. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Brigid Sheehan, and his brothers Cornelius and John.

Tommy was the perfect complement to Charlotte’s bubbly, adventurous spirit, creating a beautiful balance that enriched their lives and the lives of those around them. They were passionate about traveling and spent countless cherished moments exploring new places with their beloved friends and

family. As a proud grandfather, Tommy found immense joy in watching his grandchildren play sports and cheering them on from the sidelines. He was their biggest fan, celebrating their victories and encouraging them through challenges. He also took great delight in attending his granddaughters' dance performances, where his quiet pride shone brightly. Tommy was surrounded by many friends who valued his loyalty, kindness, and genuine nature. His strong presence and unwavering support will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

His memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 18 at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating.  Family & friends are invited to a luncheon at Pasta D’oro in Wurtsboro following the mass.
