Obituary of Marlene May Cirone
Marlene May Cirone of Wurtsboro, passed away at her son’s home in Saratoga County while surrounded by her children on Friday, August 2nd, 2024; 5 days shy of her 63rd birthday.
The daughter of the late John Hartmayer and Marlene “Molly” Brasington (née Wright), she was born August 7, 1961 in Panama City, FL. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1979. She cultivated many friendships and was proudly fluent in American Sign Language. She married her husband, Joe in April of 1985. She was an avid gardener, baker, cook, and seamstress. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards and board games, and traveling with her family. She was a fervent animal lover and graciously provided a loving home to 4 dogs and many cats throughout her life. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her 3 children and grandmother to her 5 grandchildren. She cherished every family gathering and passionately attended every school event.
She is survived by her husband: Joseph Cirone of Wurtsboro; her children: Nicole (Timothy) Mongin of Amsterdam, NY, Cassandra (Joseph) Babcock of Grahamsville, NY, and Cono Cirone of Burnt Hills, NY; her grandchildren: Adam, Molly, Alexander, Isabella, and Benjamin; along with many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene “Molly” Brasington (née Wright), Stepfather Wayne Brasington, her 3 uncles Benjamin, Wayne, and Victor, and grandmother Jesse.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 15th from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with a memorial service starting at approx 6:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the American Heart Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, your local Humane Society, your local American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or any other animal rescue organization.
